THE CITY OF WINE

The project to build a cultural and tourist center of the wine is born 2009.

The Wine City is a place of & rsquo; exhibition on the theme of wine in Bordeaux (neighborhood Bacalan).

Its inauguration took place on 31 May 2016 in the presence of & rsquo; Alain Juppé and François Hollande
and opened to the public was held on June 1 2016.

What will we see at the Cité du Vin?

Already compared to “Guggenheim” of Bilbao in terms of architecture, the Cité du Vin de Bordeaux claims to be the largest museum in the world dedicated to wine. Building, including 8 floors (including four dedicated to offices not accessible to the public), offers several visit areas. A panoramic restaurant “The 7”, a wine bar, a reading room, auditorium, and a belvedere are added to the main area of ​​the museum, namely the permanent course.

A vast space of 3 000 m2 in which you can move around freely and whose scenography was designed by the English agency Casson Mann limited.
